novnos gives you Complete Control

novnos is the anti-spam anti-virus service that puts you in complete control of your mailbox. It lets you treat your Inbox the same way you treat your front door. You decide who gets in and who doesn't. With novnos, you will never get another piece of unwanted email. Get the mail you want. Block the mail you don't want.

novnos is not a spam filter. It is a permission-based email management system that blocks 100% of unwanted email as you define it. novnos creates an approved list of all the email addresses in your address book. Every time you send a message to someone new, novnos adds them to the list, so it is always up-to-date.

It sends email from anyone on your approved list straight to your inbox. It also lets you write rules to accept mail you may want, even from people not on your approved list. (If elephants are your passion, simply tell novnos to accept any message containing the word elephant and it will.)

novnos contains tools that let you send obvious spam straight to the junk box. Unlike spam filters, these tools are not the whole product just an enhancement to make your life easier. You can also write your own rules to block mail if you wish.

novnos does not bother with things like deep header analysis, anti-spoofing, heuristics, or image decoding because it doesn't need to!

novnos virus checks all emails inbound and outbound. It also allows you to safely look at emails prior to having them come to your inbox.

The Registration Request

novnos quarantines any remaining, unrecognized mail. It automatically sends a registration request to each unknown sender that directs them to a web page where they are asked for their name, email address and reason for contacting you. They also are asked to complete a task, which is easy for a person but impossible for a computer. This process alone eliminates most junk email since spammers cannot respond to the registration request.

When a sender does register, novnos alerts you with a pop-up message. You decide whether to allow the sender to communicate with you or not. You can turn this registration feature off if you wish, but most users love it because it puts the burden of identifying unknown mail back where it belongs, on the sender.

The Junk Box

Unlike many anti-spam products, novnos doesn't actually delete blocked mail. It puts it into a Junk Box, where it stays for as many days as you choose. So if you're ever concerned that you many have missed something important, you can always check in this area.
