Registered E-mail® ...Proof of Sending, Proof of Delivery, Proof of Content.

Core Service Summary

Recent legislation and court rulings hold that electronic messages are given the same legal status as paper documents (E-SIGN, UETA). The Registered E-mail services provide legal and verifiable evidence of the content and time any e-mail was sent and received by anyone, anywhere in the world. The service is designed to protect the sender in those instances where the delivery, content or time of an e-mail is disputed, in addition to enhancing efficiency and cost-savings.

RPost provides a Registered Receipt e-mail that gives the sender verifiable proof of:
  • Sending and Delivery
  • Content of e-mails and attachments
  • Uniform time sent and received (atomic clock time stamp)

RPost service does not:

  • Require any recipient action or special software
  • Store your e-mail content or information

The Registered Receipt e-mail will be returned to you within a few hours or less and is a verifiable, admissible record of that proof and can integrate into your e-mail retention policies. Because the receipt is verifiable it makes it able to prove the authorship and authenticity of that records allowing them to be admissible in court (unlike an archive if challenged).

Registered E-mail outbound messaging services are:
  • Simple to install
  • Simple to deploy
  • Minimal training
  • Complements any records management system

Is essential for:
  • Compliance
  • E-discovery
  • Paper reduction
  • Cost reduction and efficiency
  • E-mail security

Do not confuse the RPost™ system with the vast majority of special e-mail services in the market that are closed systems (i.e. store-and-forward, secure e-mail, encrypted file transfer) where users are required to sign-up to that specific system or share passwords and keys in order to participate or receive e-mail.

To compare Registered E-mail® to traditional e-mail systems like Outlook or AOL, Lotus, Groupwise or Exchange, those systems can do SOME of what Registered E-mail® can do only SOME of the time. Further, it is easy to forge e-mail with these systems. For example, in Outlook anyone can undetectably alter any e-mail in their In-box, Sent box or other folder with only TWO clicks.

Registered E-mail® gives the sender verifiable proof of delivery and content delivered for ALL e-mail ALL of the time. Other systems can give some information on delivery only some of the time and typically only if the receiver is on the same platform, inside the same network, and has their system set up to give that information, or the receiver allows for that information to be given voluntarily.

Registered E-mail® gives the sender a verifiable and counterfeit proof record of the content of an e-mail and its transmission data. Other systems may give you a simple, limited and easily forged text receipt that tells nothing about the content of the e-mail and has little evidentiary value.

Registered E-mail® time is linked to the Atomic Clock to provide a uniform time. Further, this time is in a tamper-detectable form. With other receipts, the time is typically that of the sender or receiver's server or desktop, and is in simple text form so it could be easily forged.

RPost Registered E-mail® can give the sender verifiable proof of sending, delivery and content for any Internet e-mail to any address regardless of platform.

Common Questions:

What is the core value of Registered E-mail®?

Registered E-mail® provides the sender with:
  • Legal proof of sending an e-mail
  • Legal proof the e-mail was received or delivered
  • Legal and VERIFIABLE proof of the content and transmission data of the e-mail
  • All of this in a tamper-detectable and verifiable form
  • All of this without requiring the receiver to do anything special, belong to any special platform, or trade passwords
  • KEEP IN MIND, the RPost system is most valuable for INTERNET e-mail, or e-mail sent OUTSIDE of your organization's system

NOTE: Failure notices are just as important to the business sender as are delivery / receipt notices. If you know definitively that an e-mail failed in its delivery, you can react. If you do not know, your business could be at risk.

NOTE: People often believe that their capability to track e-mail INSIDE their organization (read receipts, etc.) will work for Internet e-mail. It does not and depends on the receiver's actions or settings.
